November News – Happy November and Congrats to Michael

Congrats to all those that are participating in the Body Recomp challenge. We hope you’re enjoying the newsletters that have been coming out every Tuesday to help you stay inspired in your journey.

While this challenge is only a 10 week process at DRIP, we know staying healthy and fit is a lifelong commitment. We believe in empowering our students through fitness, nutrition, and accountability so we can all be our best self!
Meet Michael, a husband and father of 2. He started his journey with us approximately 9 months ago, and he’s at about 40 total pounds lost, with 9 of those pounds lost during  the first 4 weeks of this challenge.

About a year ago, Michael was at a crossroad.  He was unhappy with his current job and had been thinking about pursuing his dream of being a Naval Aviator (Pilot).  He had nothing to lose (aside from his weight) so he decided to focus all his energy on being selected in the highest honor for his country as a Naval Aviator.

Being a Navy pilot is an incredibly difficult, time-consuming, and emotionally and physically demanding job.  At any given notice, you may be expected to take part in warfare, conduct surveillance on enemies, or even provide attack and defense support for Navy fleets.  The Navy has strict physical fitness requirements for all members. They ask that you work on staying physically fit in the time leading up to enlisting and strive to meet the Navy’s requirements.

Knowing this and also just tired of carrying extra weight and feeling unhealthy, Michael started eating better and joined Drip at the end of January, 2024. Through hard work, effort, and discipline, Michael not only lost 40lbs, but was also selected to be a part of an elite group of aviators who will fly and fight in the world’s most lethal jets starting November 1st.

The Body Recomp challenge could not have come at a better time for Michael as it gave him another motivational tool to get in Navy shape! From Oct 1st- Oct 31st, he lost a total of 9lbs with a fat LOSS of 3.9% and muscle skeletal GAIN of 2.6%.  Seeing that he increased the frequency and level of intensity of his workouts during the month of October, it is not shocking to see these RESULTS!

We love seeing transformations in the lives of our students and Michael is no exception.  Though we are sad he had to leave us temporarily, we couldn’t be more proud of where he’s going! Good luck Michael and thank you for your service. We will MISS you everyday until you come home…

A meditative practice goal is awareness of inner silence, and bringing to interconnecting quality. Yoga nidra aka yogic sleep in modern usage is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, induced by a guided meditation while practitioners lying in savasana bring maximum relaxation into the body and mind.
